When climbs are rated in professional cycling there are 5 classifications. The longest, steepest, and hardest climbs are considered unclassifiable, hors categorie, or "beyond category." If you're looking for a level of coaching that's above comparison, this is it.

$900 per month or $9000 per year, with a one-time $100 startup fee. Yearly rate is for a 12-month, up front, non-refundable commitment.

Level 1

At Level 1, coaches are "on-call" full-time as needed by the client, providing very focused attention.

$600 per month or $6000 per year, with a one-time $100 startup fee. Yearly rate is for a 12-month, up front, non-refundable commitment.

The Level 1 program is ideal for riders who want to work one-on-one with a coach and have access to the maximum amount of feedback. Coaches are available to guide clients through their program and provide close, personal feedback and attention as they learn what's expected of them, how to implement the workouts, and how to interpret the way their body responds to the training. Training logs are reviewed daily if needed, and all e-mail and phone calls are normally returned within 24 hours.

LEVEL 1 INCLUDES:

  • Working one-on-one with a Cycle-Smart Senior Associate Coach.
  • A specific, daily training program tailored to the needs of each rider
  • Unlimited telephone and e-mail contact to plan, implement, and evaluate racing and training in the long- and short-term, with daily contact if required
  • Unlimited reviews of training and power-meter logs via e-mail
  • Access to Cycle-Smart proprietary training manual and log
  • Access to group e-mails and forum where riders share their questions and experience, as well as coaches' responses
  • Field testing to determine power zones included.
  • Bike fit included.
  • Minimum 3 month commitment suggested.
  • Daily contact with the Cycle-Smart Senior Associate Coach

Level 2

Level 2 includes weekly contact with a Cycle-Smart Coach, consisting of a thorough review of a clients previous week's training, and a plan for the week to come.

$300 per month or $3000 per year, with a $100 startup fee. Yearly rate is for a 12-month, up front, non-refundable commitment.

The Level 2 program allows riders to work one-on-one with a Cycle-Smart Associate Coach. The coach is available to guide clients through the program and provide close, personal feedback and attention as they learn what's expected of them, how to implement the workouts, and how to interpret the way their body responds to the training. Training logs or files are submitted and reviewed at the start of each week.

LEVEL 2 INCLUDES:

  • Working one-on-one with a Cycle-Smart Coach
  • A specific, daily training program tailored to the needs of each rider
  • Weekly telephone and e-mail contact to plan, implement, and evaluate racing and training in the long- and short-term
  • Weekly reviews of training and power-meter logs transmitted via e-mail
  • Access to Cycle-Smart proprietary training manual and log.
  • Access to group e-mails and forum where riders share their questions and experience, as well as coaches' responses
  • Field testing to determine power zones included.
  • Bike fit: $150 ($100 discount)
  • Minimum 3 month commitment suggested.
  • Physiological lab testing is available for an extra fee through a Cycle-Smart partnership

Level 3

Level 3 includes monthly contact with a Cycle-Smart Coach, consisting of a thorough review of a clients previous month's training, and a plan for the upcoming month.

$150 per month or $1500 per year, with a $100 startup fee. Yearly rate is for a 12-month, up front, non-refundable commitment.

LEVEL 3 INCLUDES:

  • Working one-on-one with a Cycle-Smart Coach.
  • A specific, daily training program tailored to the needs of each rider.
  • Monthly telephone and e-mail contact to plan, implement, and evaluate racing and training in the long- and short-term
  • Monthly reviews of training and power-meter logs transmitted via e-mail.
  • Access to Cycle-Smart proprietary training manual and log.
  • Access to group e-mails and forum where riders share their questions and experience, as well as coaches' responses.
  • Field testing to determine power zones included.
  • Bike fit for an additional $250
  • Minimum 3 month commitment suggested.
  • Physiological lab testing is available for an extra fee through a Cycle-Smart partnership

Level 4

One-time plans of up to 12 weeks, designed following a consultation between the client and coach. All Cycle-Smart coaches are eligible to work with Level 4 clients.

The Level 4 program is ideal for riders who need help planning their season, or have already worked with Cycle-Smart for an extend period of time. At this level, riders are essentially self-coached and check in for a new consultation when planning their training or evaluating their progress. For new clients there is room for workout explanation and clarification as part of the initial consultation.

$250 per plan

THE LEVEL 4 PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Working one-on-one with a Cycle-Smart Coach to plan, implement, and evaluate racing and training for up to 12 weeks at a time
  • Review of training log and power-meter data at the outset of each program.
  • A specific, daily training program tailored to the needs of each rider.
  • Access to Cycle-Smart proprietary training manual.
  • Access to group e-mails and forum where riders share their questions and experience, as well as coaches' responses.
  • Field testing protocol to determine power zones included.
  • Bike fit for an additional $250
  • New programs Initiated by the client when needed, or quarterly.

 


Yearly Rate

For clients interesting in committing to Cycle-Smart for an entire year of coaching in advance, Cycle-Smart is happy to reward that commitment with a substantial discount.

For all levels above Level 4, clients can receive 12 months of coaching for the price of 10, with a one-time, non-refundable lump sum payment.

We are always understanding and cooperative with clients who have interruptions based on injury or illness. But if you're a client who spends 10 month with us and takes 2 months off for the off-season, it makes sense to pay that in advance and get those 2 months of off-season attention free.
