2007 Cycle-Smart Northfield Cyclo-Cross Camp

Adam Hodges Myerson

Cycle-Smart is proud to present the 7th annual Northfield Cyclo-Cross Camp, taking place September 7-9, 2007 in Northfield, Massachusetts.

The camp's unique attraction lies in its beautiful setting, fun atmosphere, and mix of skill levels and personalities. Not to mention the opportunity to learn and practice skills with some of the best 'cross racers in New England. "Adam Myerson passed along one tip about 'cross starts that was worth the entire price of camp alone! No matter what level racer you are, camp will fit into your agenda." (Chris Mayhew, multiple time camp participant)

Cycle-Smart coaches will provide hands-on instruction in technique for cyclo-cross, with an aim towards a 1:5 coach:rider ratio. Full vegetarian meals and lodging will be provided.

New this year is an additional coaching session on Sunday. We've found every year that we simply couldn't get everything covered in the time allotted. Rather than lose the entire day to racing on Sunday, we've opted for another day of instruction, and our own small training race.

The camp is open to riders of all ability levels, although everyone must have a USCF or NORBA license. Unlicensed riders can purchase a license at the camp for an additional charge.

This individualized training program is aimed to take the hands on technique-focused coaching from camp and add training-forcused coaching to take you through the Fall 'cross season.

The venue for the camp will be the picturesque Northfield Mt. Hermon School. We'll be based at the Hibbard Dormitory again this year for meals and lodging, and using the surrounding campus grounds for the camp.

There are a number of pricing options available based primarily on lodging, meal, and coaching options:

1. 1 Single bed/Single Occupancy: $650. If you are coming to the camp as an individual, and would like your own room with a single bed, choose this option.

2. 2 Single Beds/Double Occupancy, 1 camper: $750. If you are coming to the camp and would like to bring a non-riding partner with whom you will share a room, choose this option. Meals are included for your partner in this price.

3. 2 Single Beds/Double Occupancy, 2 campers: $550. If you are coming to the camp as an individual, would like your own bed, but don't mind sharing a room, choose this option.

4. Camp not including lodging: $450. If you live nearby or plan to make other lodging plans, use this option. This includes the Friday evening meal and seminar, Saturday meals and both clinic sessions, Sunday meal and coaching.

5. Saturday Only: $350. This option includes attendance at both of the clinic sessions on Saturday, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the school.

6. Level 4 'Cross Camp Training Program: $125. This is a training program designed to complement the skills and knowledge you will gain when attending the 'cross camp. The training program will take you from the weekend of the 'cross camp through to the end of the cyclo-cross season.
