The North Beach course can be best described as a true cyclocross terrain sampler. There is something for everyone at the 2011 venue.
The course starts at the northern end of the slightly uphill paved start/finish stretch. Passing through the finish line the course breaks softly to the right and leaves the pavement entering an open wooded stand where it bends around trees and rolls up and over some small bumps. Climbing up to the southerly end of the course it then drops down through a series of turns towards the beach. A fast entry into a sandy section is followed by a sweeping right turn and a natural dismount. Riders remount and bend back around a stand of trees and drop onto a long beach straightaway that may be either a ride or run depending upon conditions.
Leaving the beach riders sweep back towards the registration building and through a series of short straightaways and 90 and 180 degree turns that end at the entrance to Pit One. Passing though the pit the riders curl to the left and a short section of sand before heading back up to cross the start/finish road. On the eastern side of the road the course follows a natural path in the woods and climbs to the highest point on the course.
Leaving the woods the riders negotiate a steep off camber chute leading them onto the main grass sections of the course. The course flows slightly downhill along the edges of the park and the expo area before turning back east. The course heads back up a slight slope to a small series of turns and off cambers that dump out into a straightaway and dismount at a set of two planks.
Remounting the riders loop back around the expo and parking area. The loop has a short dogleg in the middle with a short climb and an off camber descending turn. The course then heads towards the start finish road, crossing it with a quick right and left ending at Pit Two.
Passing through Pit Two the riders have a wide 180 degree turn which brings them back along the start finish stretch then a final wide 180 turn onto the finish.
