Nor’Easter ‘Cross Registration Closes Tonight!
The registration for this Saturday’s Nor’Easter ‘Cross Powered by Eastern Mountain Sports closes this evening at 8pm. This race has UCI events for men and women and for the non-elites is the third race in the Verge New England Cyclo-Cross Series. Links to registration information can be found at the event website - http://www.cycle-smart.com/noreaster.
There will be a strong turnout for this event with some of the best amateur racers from New England as well as a UCI Elite race that has drawn registrants from around the world in addition to top local talent. This is going to be a race to remember, with a truly classic course, right in downtown Burlington, Vermont. The weather calls for some sporadic rain, so we’re likely to see some truly ideal cyclocross conditions.
Also for racers coming up on Friday, we have two exciting events planned. First at 2pm, all our premier racers will be hosting Pre-Ride With the Pros. This is your opportunity to hit the course with some of the best racers in the world and maybe pick up an idea or two on how to attack it on Saturday. Confirmed for Pre-Ride With the Pros include British National Champion Helen Wyman, fellow Brits Gabby Day and Ian Field, Belgian Tom Van Den Bosch, member of the French national team Nicolas Bazin, former Canadian champ Mike Garrigan, several times Danish champion Joachim Parbo and Canadian Craig Richey. Also present will be local-favorite Amy Dombroski, for whom this will be the final weekend before a long European campaign. We’ll also have the whole Cycle-Smart Elite Team as well as their sponsor, Adam Myerson.
Also, Friday evening, we’re happy to announce that Maglianero (http://blog.maglianero.com/) at 47 Maple Street, right in Burlington, will be hosting our Number Pick-up Party. This is an opportunity to get the number-pick up portion of Saturday out of the way early as well as meet and greet fellow racers and all the pros that will be coming out on Saturday. In the past, these events have been a highlight of the weekend and are a great kickoff for what will be a great day of racing. The party runs from 6-9pm.
Last but certainly not least, the Nor’Easter ‘Cross is part of the Nor’Easter Festival powered by Eastern Mountain Sports. Nor’Easter is a 3-day celebration of outdoor culture showcasing sports, music, food, beer and the environmental issues we face. The music festival runs the gamut from rjd2 (Friday at 7:30pm) to G. Love & the Special Sauce (Saturday at 8pm). All pre-registered racers can purchase festival tickets at a 50% discount. All festival information is available at http://noreasterems.com/.
