Here's what Cycle-Smart clients have to say about their coaching experience:
"Adam and I have been friends, teammates and competitors for as long as I can remember...and we have constantly debated the advantages and disadvantages of different training methodologies...this formed the ideas that Adam made use of when he founded Cycle-Smart...his training methodologies have been tried and tested by athletes who understand 'real world' applications...they are methods that have been proven by people like the Cycle-Smart coaches, and people who have put them to use in building successful racing careers."
-Kevin Monohan, two-time U.S. National Criterium Champion
"I'm thrilled about having you for a coach! I'm finally getting some expert advice on things, and don't have to wonder whether or not I'm doing the right thing for training."
"You are in a whole different class as a coach than any other I've worked with. That part about being in a different class relates to the individualization and attention to detail. You work at coaching me. None of it feels rote."
"Saturday was eventful. I ate breakfast late and felt crappy for most of the race. The KOM competition heated things up on the climb, but i was always right in the thick of things. I popped a chain on the backside after the first lap and had to catch back on solo....no big deal. The final sprint was great. At 400 to go the field went left over the yellow line and a hole popped open on the right. I pushed hard and walked through 20 guys to take the win! Finally a 1st place, and at a stage race!
Thanks for a great season, i couldn't have done it without you."
"I just wanted to let you know I enjoy your articles posted on BikeReg.com. I'm a cat 4 racer and have used a lot of your ideas on training found in the articles. The most useful information came from the article on timing the sprint. You wrote about cat. 4 racers leaping out of the field with a kilometer or so to go. I used that piece of info last week in the GMSR circuit race. I took off with a K to go on a downhill finish. I won the race.
Thank you for the help."
"Just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks. Cycle-Smart has been exactly what i hoped for, and money very well spent. The program, while a bit intricate, is a very good use of time. It's nice to ride with a purpose every day. And it's a very flexible one too, which is nice for anyone that works or has a pick-up race from time to time.
Mainly, I've been impressed with the 'real world' input of the program. From accommodating cyclo-cross racing, to accommodating work schedules, understanding the mentality of a racer, and being specific to the rider, the program has been a perfect fit.
I'm looking forward to the results of the first phases of training, and am really looking forward to working more closely with Cycle-Smart during the 'cross season. Thanks so much."
"I read your article about taking a mid season break. Just wanted to let you know that I was very nervous about doing it but it worked out perfectly. I was going backwards after Fitchburg after peaking for the North Atlantic TT champs. Starting 2 1/2 weeks ago, took 3 days off, rode 15 mi per day for 4 days, went out to Superweek and came into super form out there. Rode the 40+ and took two 2nds, a bunch of top 10s and 9th overall for the series. I owe this to your article."
"I would like to go on the record as saying that this experience has been extremely satisfying to me. As my coach and a mentor , I feel that your ability to respond to my questions, thoughts, ideas while maintaining an understanding of my desire to balance this adventure with outside commitment has been great.
I guess the definition of results is as individual as a rider. I went into this year not really sure what I was going to get out of this experience (other then to be a better rider). Frankly, I think that goal has already been reached.
I hope this business continues to grow for you guys, I think you offer a great service to a vast spectrum of riders.
"I just wanted you to know that I am getting great feedback about yesterday's session...it was really fun and frankly, the most active race I have been in yet (not just this spring, I mean ever)...I was so excited to see my teammates try all kinds of things they normally wouldn't. I think we have a lot of talent among our team and the coaching we are getting - formal or informal - is helping many of us to add structure to our training and to think about aspects of racing that may have been foggy before.
Also, I know this might sound strange, but the women also really appreciate your demeanor and style..It really works well for us.
Thanks again from all of us."
"You set me up w/ a program last spring and i just wanted to share my positive experiences thus far in season 2. Cut to the chase: it's early February and for Light workouts i'm already able to push 2 teeth higher @ the same cadence & resistance as late March last season. This in itself is a very encouraging sign for me! I attribute a good portion of this to my continued use of the Cycle-Smart program."
