Training blogs

Do you guys really give a shit about what I'm doing for training? Do you want to me post the details here, now that I've really started ripping it in earnest?

I'm still three race weekends behind on race reports from the January 'cross campaign. Now that I'm finally in Tucson, I've had a chance to visit with Janice (and get engaged), get my 'cross bike transformed to my road position, and get caught up on coaching clients, accounting, and all the other Cycle-Smart minutiae. I absolutely will write those race recaps, because it was an amazing trip, with a lot of amazing stories.

But if you want, I can fill you in on how the training's going here in the meantime. The point is not to show off or boast, though, and that's why I'm hesitant to do it. I'm a pro, allegedly. I'm supposed to ride a lot. It's like bragging you went to the office for 8 hours a day. As long as you guys can keep it in context and remember that it's from a coaching/personal interest perspective, and not 'cause I think I'm a big swinging dick, then I'll see if I can do some brief daily summaries.

Yeah?

To me, posting your training details to your personal blog is appropriate, and since you're a pro it's potentially even interesting. Posting the same details in a more broadcast-ey forum like Facebook would feel more like breast-beating. I'm sure you'll make it more interesting than "Adam did a hard 4 hour ride this afternoon" in any case, unlike Joe Random Jaboff. And besides, if you don't post your training hours, how are countless cat 4s going to know how to properly overtrain?
Post up your ride info. I find it interesting and not-at-all-dick-swingy. It's interesting to read about what you're doing and to see the numbers that a pro can do -- so many people are very secretive of this stuff (not like it really matters, though) -- and it gives us slow amateurs an idea of how "the sausage is made" when you're paid to ride a bike.
