While it's possible he may have bribed me with a really nice Rapha winter hat:

and then further, with a Rapha silk scarf:

(which I could wear the only way I know how:

naturally), we are, indeed, friends and fans of Jeremy Dunn and all of the projects he has a hand in.
So on my way out to Bend for 'cross nationals, Janice and I flew to Portland first to spend a couple of days staying with Jeremy, drinking coffee at Ristretto Roasters, eating vegan doughnuts at Voodoo Doughnuts, and eating not-so-vegan treats at St. Honoré Boulangerie.

I thought I was pushing things with two treats when we stopped at St. Honoré,

but we'd ridden up and down a mountain, so I went for three.

It was an easy 2000 calorie pastry stop. Little did I know doughnuts were going to follow that night.

And even again the next morning.

It was a good visit, and I really love Portland, hipster plague aside. Portland feels a little too much like Paradise, and I fear that Paradise makes you soft. It's good to know it's there, though, and that I can visit.
As you might expect, we talked about bikes. A lot. Since bikes are what Jeremy and I do for a living, it's more like talking about work, really, but it gets rough for anyone subjected to it who's not necessarily there for bikes. Sorry, Janice.
Regardless, this long intro was meant to introduce a nice article Jeremy posted on Embrocation. I don't know why Jeremy and I like to take the piss out of each other as much as we do, but we do. Brotherly love, I think. He got a lot of good shots from nationals as well, so I'm hoping he'll be posting those soon. Enjoy.
