Cycle-Smart, Are You Listening?

A Thurston Moore quote from _Our Band Could Be Your Life_:

_Moore felt independent labels had lost what made them good in the first place, which was that they didn't try to compete on any level with the majors. But, noting the steady growth in their sales, indie labels had lately begun to aim higher. "The whole thing of becoming bigger and bigger to me was wrong," Moore said. "You should find a great neutrality and just stay there and maintain that force."_

So Cycle-Smart will go as we enter the second decade of the business.

I love that book and that's really sound advice and more people should follow it. That's why it sucks when your American record company tries to wring out $20,000 from the European label. And then the European label stops returning your phone calls. Gee, I wonder why? Even I knew my f'n record wasn't worth $20,000.
sonic youth was the best quote you found? (no offense or anything) and how does cycle-smart feel about coaching a rising star in the new england road, track, and cross scene?
I didn't say "the best quote," I said "a quote." And yeah, it speaks pretty well to the Cycle-Smart business model, which has always been based on Dischord Records. Quality of work and commitment to a mission over profit for profit's sake. One that note, I feel great about coaching any rising star who can pay for their coaching, has a powermeter, and won't drive me crazy.
