And here's a good one. Once you've died a thousand deaths to make the final selection of 25 guys after 5 hours of racing, gotten dropped on the last 3 climbs and fought back each time, and then found yourself in a group of 14 sprinting for 10th place (aka "the field"), what's it take to get 3rd in the sprint for 12th place? From the final corner:

sprint:

Duration:   0:16
Min Max Avg
Power:       557 823 695 watts
Heart Rate:   174 178 176 bpm
Cadence:     86 102 93 rpm
Speed:       27.2 35 32.3 mph

That's right, folks. The power that I often do 6 or 8 times in a row in training for a full minute was all I could manage for 15 seconds, cramping all the way to line. 800 watt peak power? That's awesome. 400 watts lower than normal!

More details about the race as soon as I can. I know I haven't been blogging about bike racing much lately, but who likes to talk about work all the time?

Adam - Any opinion on Theo Bos, everytime I look at the video it looks like he ripped him donw on prpose, but I can't figure out why? Any euro gambling fix theories?

Looks like I'd probably beat you in that sprint, too. cheers!

You'd have to have ridden 124.5 miles first, though, Ry. Which I'm pretty sure is more than your typical weekly mileage these days, no?

I make no exceptions.

max cadence 246rpm....what the fuck? I'm psyched if I can hold 180rpm for 30seconds
